Straighten Your Smile!
When you think of straightening your smile, you may also think of traditional metal braces. However, you may not be enamored with the idea of spending so much time with the dentist having your braces adjusted. You may not have the time for the extra brushing and flossing that braces require and the restrictions on your favorite foods may not be appealing. Finally, you may want to retain a natural look for your smile in work or social settings and to have people focus on you and not your orthodontics. If this is the case for you, we invite you to call Kathy Cosmetic Dentistry at 818-347-1550 to make an appointment with Dr. Kathy Daroee to learn more about Invisalign® clear aligners in Woodland Hills, California.
With Invisalign aligners, there are no metal brackets no wires and no rubber bands. The aligners are created from digital impressions of your smile. They are made of clear, flexible plastic and when you have them on, they are virtually impossible to notice. You remove them to brush and floss and for meals, allowing you to continue to enjoy the foods you love. They are easy to clean and comfortable to wear.
You wear each set of aligners for approximately two weeks before changing to the next set. Over the course of your treatment, you teeth will be moved vertically, horizontally and even rotated into their optimal positions, giving you a straight, healthy and attractive smile.
Invisalign and the Invisalign logo, among others, are trademarks of Align Technology, Inc., and are registered in the U.S. and other countries.
Invisalign Clear Aligners FAQ
What are Invisalign clear aligners?
Invisalign clear aligners are a type of orthodontic treatment. They are often recommended as an alternative to traditional braces and are especially popular among teenagers and working adults who want a more discreet treatment option. During your initial consultation, our dentist will examine your mouth and discuss your options with you to determine if you are a candidate for this type of orthodontic treatment.
What is the treatment process with Invisalign?
When you receive Invisalign treatment, our dentist will use digital technology to map out the tooth movements needed to straighten your teeth and smile. A series of custom-made aligners will then be manufactured. These aligners fit your teeth and mouth precisely, and as you switch to a new set of aligners every few weeks, small adjustments will be made to the positions of your teeth. You will wear your aligners for 20-22 hours each day, removing them only to eat, brush and floss, and will visit Kathy Cosmetic Dentistry regularly to ensure your smile is progressing as planned.
How do I take care of my aligners?
There are several ways you should care for your aligners. We recommend that you:
- Keep them clean using the Invisalign cleaning system or by brushing them with a toothbrush and rinsing them in lukewarm water. Do not use hot water, as it will warp the plastic and ruin your aligners.
- When you remove your aligners, please consider keeping them in a case of some kind to protect them and ensure you to not lose them.
- Do not chew gum, smoke, eat or drink while wearing the aligners, as this may cause damage to them.
What is better, Invisalign treatment or braces?
Invisalign clear aligners and braces treat the same orthodontic issues, including crowded teeth, crooked teeth, gapped and spaced teeth and bad bites. The main difference between braces and clear aligners is in how your teeth are moved. Braces rely on metal brackets and wires that are periodically adjusted to move your teeth into position, while Invisalign treatment uses a series of computer-generated clear plastic aligners. Benefits of choosing Invisalign clear aligners over braces include:
- A nearly invisible treatment
- Removable aligners so that you can brush, floss and eat normally
- No metal brackets or wires
- A comfortable treatment that will not irritate your mouth
How much does Invisalign treatment cost?
The cost of your Invisalign treatment is comparable to braces and will depend on how complex your case is and how many sets of aligners you need. Our dentist and team will be able to provide an estimated treatment cost after your initial consultation. Most dental insurance providers will cover Invisalign treatment, and our office also provides several financial options to work with your budget. Please speak with our team for more information.
